I’ve worked for nonprofit, medical research, and public health organizations for over 10 years as a translator, editor and writer.

While launching my freelance business in the early 00’s, I worked at the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University and then at the Montreal Neurological Institute as a Communications Coordinator.

In 2014, I decided to start offering Web writing services to help nonprofit organizations optimize their online copy and develop an online strategy to get more donations.

I know how hard it is to keep up with a demanding job in public sector communications.

Everything has to be done yesterday: it’s noon and you need to send out a donation request by 3:00 p.m; you have to get out your newsletter while maintaining your website and social media posts; you’re spread thin all over the Web and always need more resources to reach out to people and convince them to give.

You need a Web writer who is not only aware of your challenges but who knows what you’re ultimately after: more donors and more donations. Someone who doesn’t just give you copy but who gives you copy that persuades people to give you their hard-earned money.

My singular goal is to find out what your different donor groups want to hear from you so that I  can create compelling online content that will get them to give and to give more.

Before we start, I always do a thorough interview to determine:

  1. Your overall goals.
  2. The challenges of your specific environment.
  3. How your content and content strategy fit with your broader marketing plan.

What I don’t do:

  • Give you “fill in the blanks” copy.
  • Regurgitate tips and tricks.
  • Presume that your audience is like everyone else’s.
  • Think that prevailing best practices will automatically work for you.

My service is a bit like surgery.

I poke, prod, slice, dice, cut open and explore to figure out what makes you so special and what makes your audience tick.

I may ask you so many questions, you’ll get sick of me.
